Donations in Memory of Wendell A lot of kind folks have called wanting to contribute funds to the Zoo in memory of Wendell. When we began this journey with all of our critters it was imperative to us that we make sure that we would always be able to care for them. We have had animals since the early 90’s and have only in the last year opened our doors to visitors. Saunders Country Critters was never intended to be a money making venture. Now that we have opened to the public, our only goal is to have admission fees cover the extra staffing & insurance needed to ensure the safety of both our visitors and our animals. Our Critters are our family and our responsibility … one that we have always taken seriously. However, in all of our planning and growth over the years, we did not foresee a nightmare like the one we have been living over these past few weeks. We are now planning to surround our Zoo with 6 foot perimeter fencing to further protect our critters from any similar such disastrous situations. Costs will be close to $200,000.00 and it is not something we feel we can accomplish on our own. Should donations exceed the cost of the fencing, the excess will be donated to the Humane Society. We are asking those that wish to contribute something in Memory of Wendell to send their donations to:
Although making gains from this nightmare is the furthest thing from our minds, we have happily gained a bunch of new friends and a lot of warm hugs and kind thoughts. For these we are also truly thankful. Carla & Gary Saunders |
