Thinking of Wendell

It is with great sadness that we must report that Wendell’s body was found on November 13th, 2008 in a corn field approximately 40 kilometers away from his home. An autopsy has been performed but the results were inconclusive as to the cause of his death. It was determined however, that he died at least 5 days previous to us finding his body .
Words cannot begin to explain how raw we are feeling over the loss of Wendell. We along with many, many others had always believed that he would return home safe & sound. That was not to be. If we didn't care so much, it wouldn't hurt so much.

This has been a nightmare for us but............through it all we could not believe the number of folks that came forward to help in any way they could. It has really given us a renewed faith in humans. Sometimes I think we spend so much time with our critters that we forget that most people really do have good hearts. This nightmare has really taught us that there are a lot of kind and warm people out there and again, we thank you.

As I write this e-mails are coming in from as far away as California, Alberta, Australia & Nova Scotia. Wendell in the end did what he has done his entire life … Touched Hearts. Rest in Peace my Dear Friend you will be sorely missed.

Wendell Weekend

Friday & Saturday July 24th & 25th from 10am till 4pm will be Wendell Weekend here at the farm. We invite all of you that assisted us in any way during this nightmare to come on out and meet the rest of our family as well each other. Visit the Wendell Memorial
